Backseat Gaming Launches Trending Games Line With Hold The Phone
Backseat Gaming has introduced a new slot series inspired by cultural moments and online trends, with Hold the Phone leading the line and offering operators new opportunities for timely campaigns.

Backseat Gaming has expanded its slot portfolio with a new Trending games line, featuring titles inspired by cultural moments and online trends.
The first release, Hold the Phone, marks a shift towards a more agile approach to content development, with cultural relevance at the centre of the studio’s offering.
The 5x5 slot features classic symbols presented in a cartoon style, alongside a second reel set positioned opposite the main reels. The additional set remains locked during base-game play, drawing inspiration from the growing popularity of dual-screen mobile devices.
Accelerated Development For Trending Themes
Unlike Backseat Gaming’s regular release roadmap, the Trending line will be developed on an accelerated timeline, allowing the studio to respond to trends while they are still attracting attention.
The approach is designed to give operators access to content based on recognisable themes and current cultural interests, creating opportunities for timely marketing campaigns.
The titles also offer potential for streamer partnerships and social media content, giving operators additional ways to promote their games and engage audiences.
The new line expands Backseat Gaming’s portfolio with a more flexible, culture-led approach to slot development, aimed at helping operators connect with player interests in a competitive market.
Espen Oeye, co-founder and CEO at Backseat Gaming, said:
“The market is full of similar themes, and players notice when a studio is genuinely in touch with what’s happening around them. Trending games let us move at the speed of culture, building around moments people are already talking about and sharing.“Hold the Phone is just the start. For our operator partners, it’s a chance to be the first place players look when a moment takes off, with a ready-made story to power their content offering.”
