Online Casino Revenue Drives Ontario iGaming Growth In August

Ontario’s total iGaming revenue rose 18.4% year-on-year to CA$396.3m in August, according to the latest monthly statistical report from iGaming Ontario.

Revenue across online casino, sports betting and peer-to-peer poker increased from CA$334.8m recorded in August 2025.

Online casino accounted for the majority of the growth, with revenue increasing 25.4% year-on-year from CA$268m to CA$336m.

However, sports betting revenue declined 9.6% from CA$60.2m to CA$54.4m, while peer-to-peer poker revenue fell 17.6% from CA$6.8m to CA$5.6m.

Monthly Changes In Ontario’s iGaming Market

Total cash wagers decreased 1% month-on-month, falling from CA$9.9bn to CA$9.74bn.

Total revenue declined 4% to CA$413.6m, while the number of active player accounts fell 11% to 1.2 million.

Despite the reduction in active accounts, average revenue per active player account increased 8% to CA$328.

Online casino gaming stakes remained stable at CA$8.78bn, while sports betting wagers fell 15% to CA$843m.

Peer-to-peer poker wagers increased 5% to CA$122m during the month.
